Happy 80th Independence Day to Indonesia, a new Indonesia, an advanced Indonesia.
Today marks 80 years of our freedom as a nation. As students, we must always be grateful for all the sacrifices made by our heroes who fought to free us from occupation. Because of them, we are free to live, to study, to choose, and to build our future.
Independence Day Ceremony at Qonita Islamic Boarding School
On 17 August 2025, Qonita Islamic Boarding School (Qonita IBS) held a special ceremony to commemorate Indonesian heroes and to revive our mission as students, as human beings, and especially as khalifah on this earth.All students gathered on the school basketball court in the morning to begin the Independence Day Ceremony. The highlight of the event was the raising of the Indonesian flag by the High School National Flag Hoisting Troop of Qonita Islamic Boarding School, while everyone stood respectfully and sang the national anthem “Indonesia Raya.”
Inspiring Speech from the Foundation Leader
Afterwards, students listened to the speech delivered by Gus Muhamad Rifqi Aufan, Head of Qonita Universal Foundation. He encouraged all students to fight in life through boarding school experiences—where challenges must be solved independently—and to strive harder in their studies to become successful in the future. However, he reminded us that this struggle is nothing without our connection to Allah SWT. Therefore, we must fill our lives with Akhlaqul Karimah to become truly successful Muslims.
Independence Day Parade and Student Performances
After the ceremony, students enjoyed the Independence Day celebration and parade. The program included:
👗 National dress fashion show by middle school girls
💃 Traditional “Tari Kipas” dance by Qonita students
🎤 Poetry performance by male students
These activities brought joy and strengthened the patriotic spirit of Qonita students.
Spirit for the Future of Indonesia
Through this celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, we hope that every student of Qonita Islamic Boarding School will gain more spirit, motivation, and eagerness to contribute to Indonesia’s future.
